Congratulations from Obama Supporters. Celebrate!

I'd like to offer this diary as a place for Obama supporters to congratulate Senator Clinton and her supporters on their big victory in West Virginia tonight. They've worked really hard and this should be a time of celebration for them.

I'd also like to suggest that Obama supporters on this site pay them the greatest respect that we can, and leave the site for the the rest of the day. I hope that most Obama supporters will agree with me that this is their time. I fully expect things to be said that Obama supporters may disagree with, but let's not make this a night to engage in arguments. I think we should all go elsewhere for a while, and return maybe tomorrow afternoon.

I offer this as a sign of respect to our fellow Democrats in the Clinton camp, and I hope Obama supporters will rec this diary, add a comment with their congratulations, and then disappear for a while.

Quite Patronizing (1.50 / 2)

I'm sure this diary wouldn't have appeared if the media hadn't been suggesting for the past week that Obama has it all sown up. Please save it, this is a competition until the end (onto the convention i need be...hopefully)

Re: Quite Patronizing (2.00 / 4)

I don't see it as patronizing at all. Supporters on both sides have congratulated the opposing side on their wins in the past.

Perhaps you're just a little too edgy.

Whatever.

Congratulations on your win.

Not my victory (2.00 / 1)

This is a new tone. Conviniently appearing when Obama seems to have the nomination. NOW you need Hillary supporters so you wish to make nice. A few weeks ago she was the devil incarnate. I'm not buying ANY of these diaries

Be nice to Hillary so we can use her in November to sure up thhe white and latino vote. Interestingly enough on Super Tuesday,1 and 2, those votes didn't seem all to important. No, at that time they were fools who were being fooled by Hillary and Racist Bill

What do we have to say tonight, our candidate likely lost 70/30.

We could make excuses, blame the demographics, race, education level ect..ect.. but what would be the point?

In the end this is a contest of wins and losses in an attempt to accumulate delegates.  Your candidate Sen. Clinton had had a great night, enjoy!

BTW looks like she will net 12 delegates tonight, congratulations, thats as much as PA, not a bad night at all.

Blacks 13%
18-29 year old eligible voters 25%

Women 51%
Working class 33%

Elderly 12%
Gays 10%

CLINTON WINS 126 > 51.

Congrats on winning West Virginia! I support Obama, but I love a strong woman.  With the shit the Republicans have thrown at Hillary over the last 16 years, she deserves a hell of a lot of credit for fighting the good fight through it all.  She has done great things for this country, and she has paved the way for the first woman President, even if it isn't her.  Though, I wouldn't bet against her making it to the Oval office someday.  Anyway, congrats on the big win!

Any win is a good win.  I think there are some very good reasons for voting for Clinton even though I didn't.

Obama and Clinton have each gotten roughly half the votes in this tough primary season.

She made me cry tonight. (2.00 / 1)

I wrote a really harsh diary today criticizing Hillary's campaign tactics. (Mark Penn's tactics in particular.)

Tonight, she made me cry.

She was full of graciousness, strength, class, charm, and her ever-present wit and brilliance. I wanted to go up and shake her hand, and thank her for inspiring more devotion and love in women, the elderly, the working class, independents, and yes, African Americans (Stephanie Tubbs-Jones was great to hear from tonight, as always) than the right wing's nonsense would have led me to think possible.

She also made me believe that she will work her guts out to elect a Dem to the White House, whoever it is.

Congratulations to Senator Clinton, and to all the people who worked so hard in WV on Clinton's behalf. I didn't see racists or "the uninformed" in her cheering audience tonight. I saw people who feel grateful to the Clintons, remember much better times under Clinton stewardship, and who admire the hell out of Hillary, if not plain love her.

It was really special and humbling to watch.

We CAN come together. Yes, we can. Yes, we will.
